I love what Saab has offered in its 9-5 Griffin.  First, it’s a cool name, invoking the identity of a beast with the head of an eagle and the body of a lion.  The grill and headlamps definitely make me think of the watching face and eyes of an eagle.  And I’d say the 17-inch alloy wheels give the car lion-like haunches.

But even better than the appropriate name is the abundance of style added.  The Griffin sedan and SportCombi both feature a spoiler, and the matte chrome stouches on the grill really fit the persona of the car, chic and bold but not ostentatious.  Sitting in the driver’s seat, I notice the Griffin to be a combination of elegance and individuality.  I also soon find it very warm because I accidentally turned on the seat warmer (it works quickly).  Sitting there, gripping the wheel and smelling the leather, I feel like I can’t help becoming a bit more like the car, distinctive and smooth.  I’ve always been a bit distinctive, but I’ll take all the smooth this car will give me.

When you’re inside the Griffin, you’ll find high-gloss trim, two-tone sports seats, and a lot of other nice details that make you feel at home.  This car just has a way of wrapping you in style.  This car isn’t concerned with who’s sitting in its driver’s seat.  It has enough personality on its own.
