Saab is working on more environmentally friendly vehicles. The company plans to manufacture both hybrid and electric models that won’t be in dealerships until late 2011, at the earliest. These new models are going to be hatchbacks, 9-1 or 9-2′s. Also, the company plans to replace the 9-5 saloon and estate, produce a new 9-3, and a 9-4X compact SUV. Saab will definitely be busy over the next year and a half!
What is behind this surge of change? As everyone knows, auto makers are under more scrutiny to produce green vehicles that consume less gas and emit less CO2. Our environment cannot continue to withstand the abuse that manufacturing has put on it over the years. Saab is doing it’s part to make Chicago Saab vehicles even better. By 2015 governments in Europe will fine manufacturers that do not comply with the average CO2 emissions being at a certain level. Thus, making large and medium sized vehicles that use only gas or diesel cannot be their only option. Since Saab is a big seller overseas, this is a policy they will be sure to follow.
The 9-1 and 9-2 Chicago Saab eco-friendly models are likely to be designed similar to the Vauxhall Astra, a hatchback that many car companies, such as General Motors, have patterned car models off of. It’s a smaller hatchback that uses less petrol overall.
If you have a Chicago Saab used cars, and want something smaller and more environmentally friendly in the next 18 months, the new models may be for you!
