Patrick Saab offers service special

Has your “change oil” light been on for awhile in your Chicago Saab used cars?  Well, don’t put it off bringing it in any longer.  Patrick Saab is currently offering a service special.  If you go to www.patricksaab.com and click on “Parts and Service” tab, there is a coupon for $10 off the regular price of your next Oil and Filter Service.

The Chicago Saab service center at your local dealership is a great place to take your Saab in.  The staff is friendly and adequately trained to specialize their work on new and Chicago Saab used cars.  I recently took my 9-3 in and I was extremely happy with the professional environment.

It is recommended that an auto owner change their oil once every 3,000 miles.  If you do a lot of short trip driving, but do not go longer highway distances, you might need to do it more often.  All Saabs sold in the US require oil that meets the GM6094M standard or the GM 4718M.  The staff at Chicago Saab service know this and will make sure this is met!

Saab fans tour in support of brand

As most auto industry followers know, the Saab brand is in limbo.  Even though Saab has a reputation for producing Chicago Saab used cars that are safe, have great engines, and overall fun to drive,  sales has been lagging.  GM is looking to sell Saab to another company, or if not,  possibly end the line all together.  Clearly, those who love Saab are not going out without a fight!

In the Netherlands on January 17th, more than 500 Saab lovers came together to rally in support of their beloved brand.  The general consensus from these individuals is that Saab should become it’s own separate brand again.  They feel that when GM took over in 2000, they tried to mass produce Saab autos, which took away their distinctiveness.  It’s hard to say who is right, but Saab does have great cars.

Right now, many Saab dealers that are open, have a very limited new inventory to sell.  In this area, many dealerships are primarily Saab service Chicago centers or used for Saab parts Chicago.  They may also have some used inventory that is worth checking out.

The 2009 Saab 9-3 is a car that would be a shame to no longer produce.  It is a nice entry-level luxury car- a great option if you are looking for something different.   The 9-3 line comes in a sedan, wagon, or convertible.

The 9-3 has many safety features. Antilock disc brakes, stability control, OnStar telematics, active head restraints and front-seat side airbags are some of these.  In fact, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 9-3 some accolades for safety.  They awarded this model with a “Top Safety Pick” award after it scored the institutes top rating for the following effectiveness tests:

  • frontal-offset crash
  • side impact crash
  • head-restraint

A luxury car that has received top notches in safety is hopefully an auto that will keep you from having to visit Saab service Chicago stations on a regular basis!

The 9-3 also drives well on smooth and quieter surfaces.  The Aero XWD has the most powerful V6 engine.  The powertrain on the Aero model is a turbocharged 2.8-liter V6  with 280 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.

Saab, I believe, along with it’s loyal followers over in the Netherlands, is a great car company that delivers luxury cars for many tastes.  Let’s hope Saab finds a buyer soon!

2011 9-5 stands out of lineup with chic, classy design

new saab 9-5The Chicago 9-5 2011 model has a beautiful, eye-catching design that Saab lovers hope makes it to dealerships.  As you may or may not know, GM is trying to sell Saab.  Their deal to sell to Koenigsegg did not materialize, sending Saab’s future into the great unknown.  Their hope is that this new model will regenerate the brand and keep it going!

Take a look at this classy car,  and you can definitely tell it’s a Saab, but there are some design changes.  The pillars and roof are more angled, compared to the Chicago 9-5 Griffin.  It also has some of the “jet fighter design” that was a staple on the Aero-X car a couple years back. Change Perspective – the new Saab 9-3X

The new Saab 9-3X, introduced earlier this year, is one of the greatest additions to the Swedish automaker’s lineup. For those who enjoy the performance of SUVs and crossovers, but prefer a more aerodynamic, sleeker shape, the 9-3X is the car for you.  While achieving a fuel economy of 17 mpg city 18 mpg highway, the Chicago Saab 9-3X has a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces a nice amount of power: 210 hp and 221 lb/ft of torque. The 9-3X also comes equipped with the Saab Cross Wheel Drive (XWD) system that makes for excellent control, traction and all-around driving experience.

Simply put by Saab’s Brand Design Chief, “We are offering a trekking shoe that will do what’s required in more comfort and style than a heavier mountaineering boot.”

Check out your local new and used Saab Chicago dealer, Patrick Saab, to test-drive the all new 9-3X wagon. With a helpful, friendly sales team and an incredible selection of vehicles, Patrick is one of the best Chicagoland Saab dealers. If you stop in, they promise you’ll leave another happy Saab customer.
